A world changed, where all children - girls and boys everywhere - are protected.
A world where all children are protected from violence, abuse, exploitation and harmful practices is central to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. My contribution is to support governments, organisations and practitioners to strengthen child protection, improve policy and programmes, generate and use evidence, and achieve better results for children, families and communities.
This is my personal mission at Child Protection in International Development.
Knowledge Generation.
Effective child protection depends on knowing which children are at risk, why they are at risk, what responses work and where change is needed. This requires quality, gender-sensitive data, research and evidence, together with the capacity to analyse, interpret and use that knowledge well.
Good evidence strengthens programme design, policy, advocacy and behaviour change. It also supports learning and innovation by helping us test new approaches, understand what works and adapt when existing responses are not achieving the results children need.
At Child Protection in International Development, I support organisations and practitioners to generate, analyse and use knowledge to inform decisions, strengthen programmes and achieve better results for children.
Technical Support.
Coaching, Mentoring & Team Building.
Strong child protection depends on people who are supported, valued and able to work effectively together. Good teams understand their purpose, communicate well, manage disagreement constructively and create the conditions in which people can perform at their best.
Coaching and mentoring can help individuals strengthen confidence, leadership and judgement, while team development can improve collaboration, clarify roles and strengthen collective performance.
At Child Protection in International Development, I support individuals and teams to reflect, solve problems, strengthen leadership and work more effectively together in pursuit of better results for children.
Resource Mobilisation and Donor Engagement.
Effective child protection reunderstanding what works and what is promising, identifying barriers, solving problems and adapting when circumstances change.
Strong technical support can also help build partnerships, influence policy and financing decisions, strengthen programme quality and demonstrate results to governments, donors and other partners.

Successful resource mobilisation is about more than writing a strong proposal. It requires a clear case for investment, credible evidence, strong relationships with donors and the ability to demonstrate results.
Throughout my career, I have helped mobilise significant investments in child protection from governments including Australia, Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom, including US$9.1 million from the former UK Department for International Development for child protection systems strengthening.
Effective donor engagement also depends on collaboration and co-creation: working with donors to shape priorities, develop programmes, manage implementation and understand the results their investments are achieving.
At Child Protection in International Development, I support organisations to strengthen resource mobilisation and donor engagement through donor strategies, high-quality proposals and reports, partnership development, and systems for tracking and communicating results.
